Thank you to everyone to came out for the first Climate Ready Cotati Fair last Saturday! It was a fun-filled day. About 350 people attended and enjoyed the many activities, including kids’ crafts, free plants, 35 local organizations sharing information and resources, a clothing swap, free e-bike rides with Redwood Bikeshare, delicious food, prizes from local businesses, a book/puzzle/game swap, a clothing mending bar sponsored by SRJC Fashion Studies, the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition’s bike-powered smoothie maker, free bike and appliance repairs, and more. Our food vendors served on reusable dishes provided by Sparkl Reusables, which resulted in a savings of 296 gallons of water, 22 lbs of waste, and 83 lbs of greenhouse gases! A number of people rode SMART to the Fair, which took place at Cotati’s SMART station. What a great way to celebrate Spring and Cotati’s commitment to environmental sustainability!
